Goodbye Moloka'i

We're up pretty early , as we have to be out by 10 am & the Wallis's have a 11:45 flight to Ohau & then home to Victorville. It's been a great week & we've made new friends & seen a lot of new and interesting places on the "Friendly Isle." Down to the airport to drop off Steve & Marlene & I check on any other earlier flights, but there are none. So we say goodbye and head to town to get gas, shop..a flea market is going on! Lunch at the Moloka'i Burgers & we end up down at a beach & park to watch for whales & enjoy the day, before going up to the airport to check in for our 3:00 flight to Maui and then Kona. Wow! It's a very small Cessna, Go! mokolele airplane, seating only nine people and they have to seat us by weight, so men in the front & women in the rear. Capt Chris (no co-pilot) takes us over the sea cliffs around Moloka'i and the Kalapapa penisula & across the channel to Maui, via the Kapalua Coast. (KK is not happy with this !)A nice landing at OGG & a short stop-over here before getting on the same plane (one engine) for a 45 minute flight to KOA (Kona). Another nice flight down the Kehei coast over to the Big Island and beautiful spots along the Kohala Coast. Now to get to our rental car..which one is it? Dollar or Hertz? Ends up it's Hertz & a Jeep Wrangler, with a pull down top! Off to find our condo, the Sea Village, check in and go get groceries...where? Wally! A few staples & back to the room for a shower, and a cold brew, read a little & try to get on the net. We'll see what it looks like tomorrow.
