OK, will "Phil" see his shadow today? One thing for sure, no-one around cares, but I did hear that he saw his shadow, so six more weeks of winter on the mainland, but did OKC's (Zoo) grizzlies, Willy & Will see their shadows? Anyway, I'm up at 7:15, put KK's coke in the freezer, the coffee on & go out on the lanai (patio) to watch a few joggers go by & have some of that delicious cinnamon bread from the bakery & my coconut coffee. I also have some leftover "Mike's Dish" and get my blog up to date while KK goes for a walk. Steve and Marlene are also out power walking before we head out for the day. We're going to rent snorkel gear and head east for MM 20 , if the tide is still "in." A stop at the dive shop for gear & then on to the beach & it looks ok, so me & Steve wade in and snorkel for about an hour, in pretty shallow water, being careful not to touch the coral. Lots of small reef fish, nice coral and breaking waves on the barrier. We see a couple of eels, humu's, wrasses, tangs, some butterfly fish & many more, plus a new one..a unicorn fish. Back to the beach to warm up & watch for whales, but not much action today. The girls stayed on the beach to sun , read & watch for whales, as the shallow water doesn't work for them...maybe tomorrow. After chatting with some people from Portland & a Ponca City connection, we head back to the condo, clean up & get ready for the sunset. We're on our back lanai (patio) & watch the awesome sunset with some champagne, crackers & brie..ain't we cool! Off we go to dinner at The Paddler's Inn, and maybe some rock & roll! Ahhh, we just missed the band..two old geezers who have lived here for three years..hope they were ok. The BBQ, burgers & service is great! It's a laid-back evening & some good drinks too, as we just sit and visit about everything. Back up the mountain to our condo to blog, journal & relax with some jazz from NPR. More snorkeling tomorrow..see ya!
